Ms. Ruffa’s 4oth Birthday held at OASIS Lounge was Spectacular! Spectacular! ASAP XV! Party Pilipinas! I never really thought that a fortieth birthday would be that much fun! Trust me! I’m not exaggerating. We had no time for the traditions. The program was stuffed with a lot of performances. Not just ordinary performances... this one is like a blast from the past. We were like on a backtrack mode. The theme is supposed to be RETRO... the 80’s,,, well, that’s what they told me! It’s like I’m like the mascot of the party. Hehe! To those who were there.. you know what I mean(“,) Anyways... Ms. Ruffa, together with her pamangkins, high school friends (yes... high school) and colleagues were the performers of the night. I can still imagine them dancing “Shake. Body-Body... Danc-ah!”

Picture
We also had Rein, the neighbor-singer who was so good imitating SItti (Bossa Nova?)

See naman sa picture... Sikat ang lola mo... parang artista... may poging nagpapicture pa!

We had uber fun games... Yes! We had a lot of participation that night... because of the CASH PRIZES! It literally rained outside the venue... but inside the lounge... during the program, it was raining with prizes, tokens and gifts.

I must admit... We had few technical errors... but believe or not... It was the best part. Why you may ask? It’s because of the cassette player,, the cassette tape,,, side a and side b,,,, fast forward and rewind. PLAY!

Truly... AGE DOESN’T MATTER! Ms. Ruffa is bubbly, fun and young at heart.  We all went home with smiles on our faces... It was a good night... Good Party!

Mamang’s 85th Birthday was held at Edsa Shangri-La Hotel.  I think it’s now safe to say that I was actually a little anxious coordinating and hosting this party. I first knew Tita Maribel because she found me on the internet and called me all the way from the states. After booking with me, we realized that she is the “kumare” of my boyfriends Tita Lou... (small world) and that I was actually recommended to her, oh the pressure! Hehe! I knew at that time that I just got to prepare double for this event. I called up my best coordinators and I was lucky enough to have my Event Manager Rie with me that day. The first activity in our itinerary was the pictorial. Gladly, the photographer is Eron, also an alumnus of UST High and a good friend of mine.  Portrait pictures and pictures with Mamang’s kids and their families were taken. Of course the pictorial was successful.  (“,)

Registration went well and we had a smooth flow ushering guests to their seats. The program is definitely personalized. We had to think of really unique activities to keep everybody “alive, alert, awake, enthusiastic!” There were a lot of very sentimental speeches. Mamang was so touched and she was obviously happy. All her kids and their families were there. We had many balikbayans and guests coming from far places of the Philippines present that night.

There were a lot of performances, the special number that stood out for me was the kids dance... because of the cute little girl.. oooh! Forgot her name.. she’s the daughter of Dra. Baltazar (stage mom). Everybody was totally entertained. But the closing performance of the grown-ups dancing “Nobody” was the ultimate finale. They’re indeed a ONE BIG HAPPY FAMILY.

It was successful! I would love love love to host this family’s party again.... DEFINITELY

The Roxas Family are BALIKBAYANs from Los Angeles, California (",) Went back to the Philippines after 6 years...The double celebration for Hazel's 19th Birthday and Patricks College Graduation was more like a reunion to their whole family. I can still remember the super grand entrance Hazel did. She amazed everybody by singing Cinderella’s “A Lovely Night”. She sang it acapella and she was soooooo good! (she’s a theatre actress – just so u want to know) Patrick on the other hand should have entered with a graduation song as background music... too bad the sound system didn’t cooperate that time but... Patrick came in wearing his toga with head up high... even I felt proud of him! Their Mom was so hands on, oh! Was she so busy that night... ! she was in charge of everything... lucky kids... they have Mommy Ofel! Doc Ric naman, their dad was so busy entertaining the guests.  It was a crazy night. We prepared for it but it felt on the spot. But what’s good about that event was.... IT TURNED OUT G-R-E-A-T!  I especially loved the finale... which was another on the spot duet by Hazel and Patrick. I love'm both... Again.... that's a Capital E! For Patricks E-FFORT! Verrrrrrry Goooood!
